Colorful Rock Creations began with love, remembrance, and a single painted stone.

Years ago, while visiting the busy, sprawling cemetery where my mom is buried, I struggled to find her headstone. Like many do, I placed traditional rocks there to mark my visit. On my next visit, I brought painted rocks—bright enough to spot from a distance—and placed one from each of my siblings, and the grandchildren.

Many years later, when I returned, those rocks had faded and weathered from time and the elements. I took them home and decided to repaint them—this time with images that represented each person. A pizza for my brother who loves it, flowers for my sister the florist, a loose map of the world for my traveling sister, and more for each grandchild, each rock reflecting who they are and what they love.

Something clicked. I kept painting. Slowly at first, then more and more. The time I spent on this unusual and meaningful art form helped me grow, improve, and fall completely in love with it. I began making rocks for everyone I knew, giving them away and feeling genuine joy every time one found a home. That passion is what became Colorful Rock Creations.

Today, I offer hand-painted rocks that tell stories—whether it’s something I’ve already created or a custom piece made just for you. Each rock is painted with intention, heart, and a whole lot of color. Because sometimes, the smallest things carry the biggest meaning.
